Food Safety Supervisor

Course Details

The Food Safety Supervisor course combines two units, level 1 is the Food Handling unit and level 2 is Food Safety. This course is designed for anyone that is responsible for the proper storage, handling, preparation, display, service and disposal of food.

It is a legal requipment for all food handlers to comply with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. Level 1 covers those requirments, level 2 build upon those skills and is expecially applicable to someone who will be in a supervisory role.

Assessment

Learners will be assessed at the end of the classroom session. If a student is unable to achieve competence the first time, they can repeat the course until they are competent.

Food Handling

Course Details

The Brisbane Food Handling Course will teach you everything you need to know to practice personal hygiene and prevent food contamination. With food handling knowledge and practical skills, you can prevent food-borne illnesses. Safe food handling is carried out by following organisational hygiene practices and identifying and eliminating food hazards.

This course is ideal for those working in businesses with temporary or permanent kitchens, bar areas, or food preparation stations. These businesses include but are not limited to cafes, restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels, tour operators, events, attractions, functions, conference catering, and exhibitions. This course also applies to other organisations and events which require food preparation, such as aged care facilities, educational institutes, correctional facilities, defence forces, hospitals, canteens, kiosks, cafeterias, fast-food outlets, residential catering, in-flight and other transport catering.

Anyone who directly handles food or surfaces which come into contact with food, such as crockery and cutlery, during their day-to-day work tasks and chores will benefit significantly from this course. Caterers, chefs, cooks, kitchen hands, kitchen stewards, bar staff, food and beverage attendants, and even front office staff and room attendants require food handling knowledge.

Those who handle food must comply with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

There are no pre-requisites for this course. However, at the course start date, learners must be at least 16 years old.

RSA Melbourne

Course Details

If you want to work at any licensed venue anywhere in Victoria (including bottle shops), then it is mandatory that all staff hold a valid RSA certificate.

By attending our 4-hour class where we cover topics such as responsible service of alcohol and preventing intoxication among other things, not only will you learn about what laws apply but also how best to protect patrons from irresponsible behavior while serving them drinks. Plus upon completion of the program participants earn their LCV certificate which means means you'll be ready for employment opportunities!

Entrance Requirements / Pre-requisites

  • No minimum age requirement to complete the RSA training, however, you must be over 18 to serve alcohol.
  • There are no pre-requisite units for this course, but it is important that students are comfortable with delivery and assessment in English. If you require the assistance of a translator or interpreter, please note that you must enrol in our face-to-face RSA course.
